On Thursday afternoon we measured out a 10m track. We used a trundle wheel first and then double checked it with a metre stick.
Pupils used the track to measure how many metres they could run in two minutes. We kept a note of the distances that each pupil managed in the time.
This morning, we used this information to work out speed, distance and time calculations (in metres per second or m/s.) Some people even had a go at working out the speeds in metres per hour – but we decided that this wasn’t as useful a measure for this task!
