This afternoon P6/7 learned about the design software and technology involved in 3D printing. They learned about the design cycle and were given a design challenge using Spheroes.
After a short break, they were then taught to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) to create something that could be made using a 3D printer. They had to complete 5 training modules and use this new knowledge to create a simple design.
They worked really hard and achieved a great deal in their 2 hour session. Huge thanks to the staff at the UHI STEM Hub, as well as Mrs Montague and Mr Ballance for accompanying us.
We look forward to seeing which design was picked to be printed out!
A very interesting day and loved how creative the different groups were.

We were very impressed with #GlenUrquhart primary school P6/7s today. Check out their fantastic concept drawings and the winning design that matched our #Sphero Challenge brief. Design it, test it, improve it and repeat! #engineering #UHISTEMHub @ThinkUHI @SpheroEdu @Sphero https://t.co/ne0hsAOAxB
