Sharing our learning

This term, some pupils have undertaken personal projects as well as studying novels related to WW1.  We started to share our learning by presenting posters to the class.  Both presentations were very informative, and a lot of thought had gone into the layout of both posters.  We look forward to hearing from more pupils over the next two weeks.

British Nutrition Foundation Healthy Eating Week

Remember to bring your water bottles to school tomorrow!

News

Glenurquhart Primary is taking part in BNF Healthy Eating Week this week.  The children were all introduced to this at an assembly yesterday.

The purpose of the Week is to raise awareness of healthy eating and drinking, cooking, where food comes from and being active to promote key health messages and habits to young people.

We will be trying some of the BNF Healthy Eating Week challenges during the Week.  These are:

  • Have breakfast;
  • Have 5 A DAY;
  • Drink plenty;
  • Get active;
  • Make a change.

Our school will focus on the Drink Plenty challenge with all the children encouraged to take their water bottles to school today and record how much they’ve drunk.

Sports Day House Colours

Friday 1st June is Sports Day!

Please make sure your child brings their P.E. kit. Please can your child bring a named water bottle to school that day? Please check the weather forecast so that they are prepared for the sunshine (or the rain!)
If possible, we’d like children to wear something in their house colour. This could be their t-shirt, shorts, hair accessories, sweat band or a sun hat.  Children will be given a note on Monday to remind them of their house colours.

The houses and colours are:

  • Lewiston – red
  • Borlum – orange
  • Blairbeg – yellow
  • Balmacaan – green
  • Druimlon – blue
  • Milton – purple

(No problem if they don’t have anything in that colour – we know it’s short notice!)
After sports day the children will return to school with their teacher to collect any belongings, and leave as normal with the bell. A piece of fruit will be provided.

Many thanks,
Miss Mullin
